ExtraHyperActive is an independent brand dedicated to adventure travel, fitness and the outdoors to help people live a happy, healthy, and adventurous life.
The mission of our brand is simple - to encourage, motivate and guide ordinary people to do extraordinary things.
Our goal is to empower people of all abilities to step out of their comfort zone and help them plan, budget and take necessary steps to accomplish their Bucket List adventures.
( Extra ) Hyperactivity, which is associated with attention deficit disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common childhood disorders and can continue through adolescence and adulthood. The ADD/ADHD gene ( also known as the Edison gene ) affects the brain's relationship with dopamine. This difference causes one to crave stimulation just to feel alive. When you crave stimulation you are more likely to seek thrills, take risks, discover new ways to do things, be bolder, and have more charisma !
Even if you don't have ADHD/Bipolar, but ...
If you...
- become bored with a task after only a few minutes, unless you are doing something enjoyable
- frequently switch from one activity to another
- daydream
- are constantly in motion
- crave adventure, new experiences and new ideas
- have your own Bucket List
If you think YOU ARE ExtraHyperActive just like me, then this brand is FOR YOU !
My Story
My name is Paul Frolov and I’m the creator of ExtraHyperActive brand, an independant brand dedicated to adventure travel, fitness, and the outdoors to help people live a happy, healthy, and adventurous life without a financial burden.

In 2009 I was diagnosed with bipolar and ADHD, and after going through the whole nine yards of traditional treatment : prescription drugs, therapy, support groups, and etc, I realized that it wasn’t really working for me. So I started spending a lot of time reading, learning, researching, and looking for answers what I could practically do to improve the quality of my life, and how I could help others improve their physical and mental health.
Before that, I was a strong, and healthy adult who worked in the fitness industry, and trained and taught martial arts. At that time I could not imagine that something like that would ever happen to me.
But in 2007 when I was entering “the adult life” ( you know - work, family, new home, a baby on the way…), I started feeling a drastic decline in my physical fitness, and emotional state.
By the time my son was born, I was mentally and physically exhausted. Busy work schedule combined with taking care of my son would leave me 4-5 hours of sleep a day. I was constantly tired, sleep deprived and completely out of shape. I was a walking ticking bomb ready to explode at any time...
Instead... I sank into a long, deep, dark depression...
After a visit to a psychiatrist, and a number of tests...it wasn't clear what exactly I had : ADHD, bipolar, anxiety, anti-social disorder...or a bit of everything.
It became worse. I lost my jobs, my home, my wife took my son and moved in with her parents. I lost all my contacts with "the outside world", stayed at home drinking and eating junk food, blaming everybody and everything, feeling bad for myself.
One day, a friend of mine got me a gift certificate for whitewater rafting...The smell of cedar, the beautiful Skykomish River and the gorgeous scenic views of the Cascade Mountains - was the change of environment that I drastically needed.
Till this day I consider that trip the beginning of My Life of Transformation !
Slowly, but steadily, I started getting back into fitness. Since the gym environment, with all that noise and distractions, was out of the question, I started training at my friend’s MMA gym where he taught boxing/kickboxing. Training in boxing/kickboxing was a great way to reduce my stress, anger, and frustration.
Since we didn’t have machines or free weights at the gym, I ordered a few kettlebells to combine boxing/kickboxing with some weight training. Born and raised in Russia, I was on a wrestling team since age 6, and kettlebell training was a very big, and important part of our routine. But now I started noticing that kettlebells were also a great way to clear my mind, and help me focus and concentrate better than any machines or free weights.
Following the advice I picked up from numerous books on mental health, and self improvement, I also started incorporating yoga, and meditation into my workouts. It helped me increase my mental stability and clarity during and after practice.
When in 2009, I was fired from my fitness sales job, I started looking for ways to make money that would allow me to work by myself anywhere in the world while pursuing my passion for adventure travel, fitness, and the outdoors.
I came across a free website called blogger.com where I could post pictures, videos, and short descriptions of my workouts, and outdoor adventures. At that time, I didn't even know what "blogging" was. For me, it was just a free site where I could post my pictures and videos to share them with a few of my close friends, and PT clients. Back then, my blog was called "Washington Adventures", and I barely posted 2-3 posts a month.
Even though it was a personal site/blog, and I didn't do any marketing/advertising, within the first 6 months I started receiving emails from local and national companies and brands in fitness, and travel industries offering me free samples, products, and inviting me on free trips and tours ( later, I learned it was called "fam tours" ) in exchange for being featured on my "blog".
The more time, and effort I was investing into my blog, the more I was learning about online business, marketing, and branding.
I learned that most fitness and travel bloggers don't make money online simply because they don't know how to clearly define their business, how to effectively market themselves, and most important - how to sell ! On top of that, they don’t understand that travel and fitness blogging business ( just like any other online or offline business ) takes time, effort, and, money (!) to build. And I’m not even talking about the amount of dedication one must put in to “make it big".
Personally, it took me 2 years (!) to go from making $0.47 to $5K a month from just one blog (!).
But It Doesn't Have To Be That Way !
The last few years, online business and marketing have been constantly changing, and evolving. Nowadays, one can start a blog or a website for absolutely free or very cheap. The widespread use of social media has made it possible to grow a business without spending thousands of dollars on marketing budgets.
And the best part - there are many people who've already succeeded in running their own fitness and/or travel business, and are willing to share their knowledge with other like-minded people !!
Pursuing my love and passion for adventure travel, fitness, and the outdoors, helped me live a happy, healthy, and adventurous life without a financial burden.
I found my way to cope with stress and anxiety by working out on a daily basis, trying out new outdoor activities, traveling, and, most important - getting paid for doing something that I love !
With ExtraHyperActive brand, I want to show people the way to live a happy, healthy, and adventurous life, and help them start their own business, or at least to make some extra money on the side to support their epic lifestyle !!
